Colour Challenge

OK, so here is instalment 2 in the Ippity Hip Hop Challenge.  It is a colour challenge and the colours were Red, Black, White & Aqua.  I immediately thought of the trim by Websters Pages and I have used the Ippity stamps from the set called "Where You Should Be".  I thought the berry type stamp matched the Imaginesce paper perfectly.
The quote is "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are".  So cool and true.

I am lovin' these challenges.  The next one is a photo inspiration and here is the photo.  Isn't it cute?

Off to get busy in between dinner prep and school meetings.  Ahhh, the life of a stamping mother!!  LOL.

Take the Challenge

Quite often I find myself stumped for an idea when I finally get to sit down at my craft desk.  With running around after three children, getting dinner, cleaning up and putting to bed...............it comes to MY time and my head sometimes won't function in creating mode.  So this year I have decided to "Take the Challenge".  There are so many fun and inspirational challenges out there online and the other day I took the challenge over at the Ippity Blog.  It is a challenge that goes for the whole month with different criteria revealed each week.  So last week was the sketch challenge and here is my take on it.

I have used the frame from the Regal Greetings stamp set and the sentiment is from Just Wanted to Say, which is a FANTASTIC sentiments stamp set. (Both available below for easy purchase!).   It is a really simple and quick card with the hardest thing being the fussy cutting around the frame.  I have used markers to colour the frame and make the two little flowers hot pink instead of aqua.  The papers are from October Afternoon and the button and twine from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks for stopping by and I will add my second challenge attempt (the colour challenge) tomorrow.

Off the Page Project

I love creating off the page projects with Ippity stamps.  They are so fun and versatile.  Here I have taken an old photo frame and altered it with Distress Crackle Paint and Glimmer Glam from Tattered Angels.
I removed the glass and then adhered vintage music paper to the backboard.  I stamped it with the flourish from Regal Greetings with black ink and then also used the Fleur De Lis and stamp it down a few times down the right hand side.  I inked and glimmermisted the background for some finishing touches.  Then I used Donna Downeys foam flourish stamp with Stampin' Up's shimmer paint to stamp down from the left hand side top corner.  I love that shimmer paint!!
I then stamped the frame from Regal Greetings and embossed it in black.  I over-stamped with the music background stamp from Music of My Heart with SU River Rock ink and then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with SU Old Olive ink.  Again I inked the edges with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo ink.  To finish off I used a GCD Studios chipboard bird and covered it in German Glass Glitter.  I love that stuff too!

Thanks for stopping by, if you would like any of the stamp sets I have shown today you can buy them HERE under the Winter 2010 Collection.

Cheers,
